Melanie's Lymphoma
Donation protected
I am Teresa, Melanie's mom. Melanie and I are going through the fight of our lives and are planning on winning. If you know Melanie, she is the sweetest 25 year old girl there is. She is full of life and has many plans for her future.
Melanie has been diagnosed with lymphoma . She will begin chemo on May 17. Her doctor, Dr. Boyle at Kaiser Permanente, has recommended that she does not work during the time of her treatment. Melanie just graduated with a degree in Math and wants to become a teacher some day. She had just started a new job a day before her diagnosis.
Melanie also wants to be a mother in the future. To assure that she can fufill her dream of becoming a mother after chemo treatment, we preserved her eggs. The cost of preservig her eggs is $5, 720.00 dollars.
Although Melanie has health insurance through Kaiser, the cost of preserving her eggs was not covered. Also, she is not able to work for the duration of her treatment,
4-6 months and has bills to pay. Medical bills are also piling up. Any money we collect, will go towards medical and Melanie's monthly expenses.
People have been asking how to help. I think what we need the most now is financial support so we can beat this without going bankrupt. We appreciate any help big or small. Please, keep Melanie in you prayers.
