This is Marla Vásquez she is 20 years old and has CF...she was diagnosed at 5 months old...
Cystic fibrosis (CF) is an inherited disease that affects the secretory glands, including the mucus and sweat glands. Cystic fibrosis mostly affects the lungs, pancreas, liver, intestines, and sinuses... There is no cure yet for CF
As she grew older her hospital stays were more frequent and longer... now she is in ICU for the past 2 weeks...this has been the hardest stem of her disease...She went through 3 surgeries in 6 days!! Her last surgery was to remove her upper lob of her lung because she was drowning in her own blood due to hemorrhaging... Drs didn't have much faith but we never lost hope!!
Marla has alot of fight in her and wants to live !!! To GOD BE THE GLORY her last surgery was a success but does have complications....

La fibrosis quística es una enfermedad  de las glándulas mucosas y sudoríparas. Afecta principalmente los pulmones, el páncreas, el hígado, los intestinos, los senos paranasales. La fibrosis quística hace que la mucosidad sea espesa y pegajosa. Esta mucosidad tapa los pulmones, causando problemas para respirar y facilitando el crecimiento de bacterias. Esto puede provocar infecciones pulmonares repetidas y daños pulmonares.
La estancia en el hospital cada año son mas frecuentes y hace 2 semanas a tenido la peor recaida de su vida pues se estaba ahogando en su propia sangre,  le hicieron 3 operaciones en menos de 6 dias de la cual le quitaron parte de 1 pulmon, los Doctores no daban muchas esperanzas pues su cuerpo no resistiria a tanto, Gracias a Dios que la ultima operacion salio muy bien, con complicaciones Pero Marla tiene muchas ganas a vivir !!!
