Carter Family Medical Expenses

Hi, my name is Kelli Lugo. Brie Ondercin and I are setting up this GoFundMe account for Cassie and Shawn Carter. They are our dear friends and are in need of our help. As some of you may know, on November 8th, Shawn suffered an anoxic brain injury due to complications from his Type 1 Diabetes. He was in the hospital for 4 weeks and was recently transferred to a short-term skilled nursing facility. Prior to this traumatic medical event, he was in the hospital for two weeks in October for bacterial pneumonia. He will eventually need to be transferred to a long-term care facility. Due to his inability to work, the lack of paychecks will cause a major shortfall in their income, and the mounting medical bills are daunting and will be difficult to cover. Cassie is very modest and humble about asking for help, but their family could really use all of the help that friends, family, colleagues, neighbors, and others can provide. Any financial contribution, no matter how small, is greatly appreciated. The Carter family truly thanks you from the bottom of their hearts.
