Hello friends and family! My name is Yeabsira Debebe, I am a 20-year-old, first generation rising junior at Trinity College, where I've been double majoring in Educational Studies and Sociology. I am privileged to have this life-changing opportunity of studying abroad in Barcelona, Spain this coming semester through the Trinity in  Barcelona program. This program will give me the opportunity to completely immerse myself in the culture, language and learn from the way that individuals interact with one another. I feel like this is a necessary skill, as it will help me become more aware of cultural differences and reflect on how they might be similar or different to here in the United States. During my stay in Barcelona, I hope to learn more about the importance of education and I also plan on volunteering at a local school to develop teaching strategies and techniques that will continue to build my confidence as a future educator. Aside from that, I will be taking classes that will fulfill some requirements for my majors as well as some hands-on courses that will be at the nearest middle or high school. 

The only thing holding me back is the cost, and I am really excited about this trip, so I decided to try and raise my own money for it. The funds will go towards paying for my tuition, flight, and for meals. I've been working on campus and tutoring on the side to help pay for my trip, but I still need to raise additional funds.
