Help Save My Baby, Rosie

Donation protected

Hi everyone,

I never imagined I’d be in a position where I’d have to ask for help like this, but right now, I really need the help. My cat, Rosie, is very sick, and her vet bills have already exceeded $10,000. I would do anything for her—she’s my baby, my best friend, my everything. I’ve done everything in my power to give her the care she needs, but the financial burden is something I wasn’t prepared for.

On Wednesday, 2/26, I came home to find stomach bile around my apartment and Rosie looking very ill. Worried, I rushed her to the vet, where they performed an X-ray and blood work. They misdiagnosed her with minor inflammation and prescribed three different medications, which cost me around $800. Despite this, she stopped eating, drinking, and going to the bathroom over the next two days. I brought her back to the vet, and they prescribed an appetite stimulant, but by the end of Saturday, she could barely move.

On Saturday, 3/2, I rushed Rosie to VEG ER, an emergency hospital for animals, after she became completely unresponsive. After hours of testing, they discovered that her stomach, intestines, and bladder were full of liquid that wasn’t passing through her body. They also noted that her temperature had spiked to a dangerously high fever of 104.7°F. They advised me to take her to a gastrointestinal (GI) specialist, but specialists were only available on weekdays. Since this happened on a Saturday night, all they could do was administer IV fluids to combat her dehydration and give her a nausea shot. That visit cost another $500.

The next day, Sunday, I was terrified she wouldn’t make it through the night—she didn’t move from her spot on my blanket the entire day. As soon as Monday morning came, I rushed her to the Schwarzman Animal Medical Center, where they immediately admitted her. The doctors assured me they would do everything possible to save her, but the cost for 72 hours of hospitalization was $10,000. Without hesitation, I signed—because Rosie is my baby, and I would do anything to save her. She is currently still hospitalized, fighting for her life.

I’ve been living on my own since I was 21, working full-time while also trying to put myself through college. I’m doing my best, but this unexpected emergency has put me in a financial hole that I may be stuck in for years, especially with interest piling up.

If you can spare even $1 or $5, it would mean the world to me. I know times are tough for everyone, and I wouldn’t be asking if I had any other option. If you could donate the cost of just one lunch, it could help save Rosie’s life and relieve some of this overwhelming stress.

Please, if you can’t donate, sharing this would also help. Rosie and I would be eternally grateful for any kindness you can offer. Thank you so much for taking the time to read this.

With love and gratitude,
