On the 21st of September, Luis (father of our treasured friends Lui & Evelin) presented to his local hospital with stomach pain.

The news received since that day has only gone from bad to worse. Mass identified - liver lesions - it’s cancer - Stage 4 - he’ll have 3 to 12 months with chemotherapy - Actually, his body will not cope… you have ONE week.

Now, merely 19 days after presenting to the emergency department - he lay in palliative care preparing to say goodbye to his adoring wife, beloved children and cherished grandchildren who will be lost without him.

Luis has faced his reality with bravery, reflecting on precious memories to bring comfort to his family. Strong in his faith, he has left his family with just one request - to be buried.

We are calling upon those who know and love the Carmona family- and maybe even those who don’t - to please help us make this happen.

Whilst there is nothing we can do to ease the pain of what is to come - we can help carry the load. We are believing in the power of generosity in a time of unimaginable, sudden grief.
