Many of you may know or not, but the hip replacement(s) I had done last year have failed. At this point, I am unsure of the reason; however, I have recently been enlightened to some quality and malpractice suits open against the previous surgeon and program. Thankfully, that has validated me a bit because I have been very nervous and afraid to go into surgery again.
I have a new surgeon with an amazing reputation and will be remaining local in Jacksonville. She will be replacing the hip for the 2nd (3rd hip?) and doing some muscle reconstruction.
Unfortunately, I am still trying to stabilize from being out 6 months last year and the endless amounts of expensive therapy and care I have done and will need to continue to do to hopefully finally get the recovery and outcomes I have hoped for.
Honestly, at the end of the day, I am relying on faith and trust to get through this as well as a never-wavering support system.
I will have a period of time with no income followed by about 30-40% of my typical income for the remaining 12 weeks. Anything will help to make this transition as successful as it needs to be to keep my stress and anxiety as low a factor as possible. I cannot thank everyone enough for all the types of support you have given along the way.
