For the past two years, Project Warm Nights, with the help of very generous supporters, has raised more than $10,000 to assemble and distribute care packages to the homeless in Washington, DC. Just this year, homelessness in DC has risen 14.4% with over 8,000 people in the District affected. This year, Project Warm Nights is an official 501-C3 non-profit organization and we are asking for your support in an attempt to lessen the pain for some of these less fortunate, at least a little bit, during the brutal winter.
We are so thankful for all the donations we have received the past two years - money, blankets, socks, coats, etc - and we have faith that we can match those donations and more this year.
With the money raised, Project Warm Nights assembles care packages that include gloves, socks, hand warmers, foot warmers, scarves, blankets, coats, protein bars, toothbrushes and toothpaste, sanitary wipes, fast-food gift cards, and more.
When we've hit our fundraising goal and have assembled all the packages, we will set a date to go around DC to distribute the packages.
If anyone has any questions or would like to partake in the distribution/packaging process, please email us at [email redacted].
