3rd Annual Memorial Benefit to honor Nina Kuter

This year as we mark 2 years since Nina’s passing on July 25th 2019, I'm hosting the 3rd annual benefit to honor her life. 

Nina was such a light and we are all blessed to have shared in her lifetime. She meant so much to so many and it has become my mission as her older sister to keep her memory alive by doing this benefit year after year in her honor. This year's benefit is close to my heart. I am announcing a wonderful and inspiring project I have been working on called the Nina Kuter Scholarship Fund! Let me tell you a bit about it: In December of last year, I founded The Nina Kuter Scholarship Fund which seeks to help people in recovery achieve their educational dreams and attain their personal career goals in Nina’s honor. In Spring 2021, I launched the fund at the Northampton Recovery Center (NRC) located in Northampton, MA. Since then we have approved multiple candidates, awarding thousands of dollars to these deserving recipients! Just a couple examples to date are an applicant who is currently a student whom we are funding for them taking of the final two courses in order for them to complete their degree during the semester of Fall 2021. The fund has also awarded a laptop to an individual who is pursuing their yoga instructor certification as well as using it to apply for a new job. It has been thrilling to work on this project from beginning to end, and the best part is hearing the applicants be so grateful for their opportunities. We follow the award winners throughout their journey, supporting them in their dreams all along. Getting to watch them further their lives as they stay sober is something I know Nina would be so proud of.

This year’s benefit is seeking to add to the fund, in hopes that we can continue to directly support individuals in recovery and let them know that we believe in them and their dreams...all the while honoring Nina by making this her legacy. In addition to adding to the NK Scholarship Fund, we will be donating to our #1 local Baystate Children’s Hospital with a Music Therapy program to honor Nina that helps children who are recovering at the hospital. During my final conversation with Nina the day before she passed, she told me how proud she was of my family and I for a Christmas in July donation we had made to the hospital two days prior. Nina said she wished she could have done more to better the world. I am seeking to continue her legacy by making her wishes become realities.
