Why do we do this outing?

Chris Huskey grew up in Pickerington, Ohio and lived most of his adult life in Reynoldsburg. He loved the game of golf and was a regular at Blacklick Woods Golf Course. As his kids grew older, they joined him and it became a great bonding place for him and his family. In January 2016, Chris was diagnosed with stage 4 renal cell sarcoma (kidney cancer). After a long 3-year battle, Chris lost his fight against the disease. While he is no longer with us here on earth, his spirit will always live on through the legacy that he left behind. All proceeds made during the event will go directly towards cancer research at The James Cancer Hospital, in the hopes that one day no family will have to suffer from the devastating effects of this disease.

I am Chris's oldest son and this is the 3rd year of running this golf outing in his honor. Dad loved to play golf so it was only fitting that when he passed, the best way to remember him and honor his life, was to host an annual outing in his name and donate the proceeds to the great people at The James Cancer hospital. While they were not able to save his life, they were phenomenal in their care for him and did everything in their power to help make him feel comfortable during his fight. I know with the funds we raise to go along with all the other wonderful donations they receive, they will find a cure one day to rid this world of cancer!
