Hi, everyone. :)
I’m making this post on behalf of my wife Jessie and our small family.
Jessie was admitted to the hospital after severe anemia caused by prolonged, heavy menstrual bleeding due to Adenomyosis. She ended up needing a blood transfusion in the hospital. While she was there, she pointed out that at the same time as her breathing issues started, the bump on the side of her neck that had been there for years was inflamed, hot, and tender to touch. The doctor became concerned about the debilitating migraines she’d been suffering and a scan of her neck and head revealed multiple blood clots in her head/side of neck.
We later learned that the condition causing those clots had been there since she was 21 years old, likely triggered and worsened by birth control she was prescribed over the years.
Jessie is home now, but she’s still recovering with blood thinners slowly dissolving the clots. She’s spending her days in a dark, quiet room because light and sound are still unbearable. She’s on blood thinners for at least the next six months, and after that, she’ll need a hysterectomy to stop her menstrual bleeding for good.
Here’s the hard part: we are both licensed massage therapists. Our income depends entirely on our hands and our presence and right now, Jessie can’t work. If she doesn’t have clients, she doesn’t get paid. There’s no sick leave being that we are our own business owners. That means our household income has been cut in half overnight, with no end date in sight.
We’re asking for help covering:
• Medical bills and prescriptions (blood thinners are ongoing)
• Lost income while Jessie recovers
• Future surgical costs for her hysterectomy
• Day-to-day living expenses while we get through this
If you’re able to give, even a small amount means the world. If you can’t give, sharing this page costs nothing and could reach someone who can.
Thank you for taking the time to read Jessie’s story. We don’t take your kindness for granted.
With so much gratitude,
Diana & Jessie, their cats and dog :)
