Hi, my name is Heather and I’m fundraising for one of my students, Jack and his dedicated and loving family!

Four years ago, I became Jacks special education teacher in his home and fell in love with his infectious laugh instantly!!

Jack is medically fragile due to an intestinal transplant he had when he was three years old. After receiving the transplant, Jack developed an infection which in turn caused him to have a stroke. Jack lost his ability to speak, walk and play like other 3 year olds. A devastating trauma for Jack and his family, but that didn’t stop them from providing the best home life for Jack! Jack has an amazing 17 year old brother, 8 year old sister and a selfless mom! Kelly is a single mom and does whatever she can to provide for her family and Jacks staff! They are the best team and I’m glad to be part of it!

Jack is so immune compromised, therefore a common cold often means a trip to the ER. Unfortunately, Jack has many trips to the ER which inhibits mom from being able to work so she can pay the family bills; rent, car insurance, electric, oil for hot water and heat and gas for her car!

This past June, Jack almost celebrated an entire year without a hospital stay until he contracted a stomach bug which has turned out to be life threatening to him. At the moment, he is fighting for his life in a NYC hospital with mom by his side EVERY second of EVERY day! My heart is broken as is everyone’s that knows Jack!

Mom is struggling to stay afloat so I ask you to find it in your heart to offer any donation you can to help during this time!
