Hi I’m mum Sarah. I’m asking for our daughter Hannah. Hannah has celiac disease, and cow milk protein allergy and IBS. If you don’t know Hannah she is the most wonderful daughter and a great friend to her friends. She always goes out of her way to make everyone around her smile and laugh. She would give you her last penny if she thought it would make you happy! But recently Hannah has become poorly with something new. Hannah has been in pain for 7 weeks now. She has constant stomach pain, which turns in to severe cramps and Hannah ends up doubled over in pain. She has had diarrhoea every day for the 7 weeks. We have taken Hannah to 3 different hospitals they send us away saying she has gastroenteritis. Hannahs GP has continued to help us as best they can, doing blood tests and stool tests. They have found that her inflammatory markers are raised 3 times higher than they should be, indicating the possibility of bowel disease. They did an urgent referral to a gastroenterologist, but due to NHS massive wait times, they won’t even give Hannah an initial appointment till at least Christmas! Watching Hannah be in pain every day to the point where she is unable to go to school or see her friends is awful. So We have paid to see a private consultant on Tuesday 28th October. They have recommended that Hannah have two endoscopies, one lower and one upper. While she is under general anaesthetic they will take biopsy’s from the bowel and do blood tests. Hannah will have this procedure on Wednesday 12th November. It will take two weeks to get the results from this procedure and then we can start to look into a treatment plan. Hannah can only take paracetamol and no other medications to help with the pain, so as you can imagine it’s not doing very much to keep her comfortable. The procedure is going to cost £5030 in total. We currently have half saved but are asking can anyone help with the other half. We are likely to have more costs after the procedure to start Hannah on a medical plan to make her better or at least comfortable. So any help would be greatly appreciated.
