Self-Advocacy Cruise & Therapy

Donation protected
Meet 13 Year old Faith Guilbault! She may have Cerebral Palsy and Complex Partial Seizure Disorder, but that doesn't hold her back from anything!!! United Needs & Abilities, Inc and The Eastern Shore Self-Advocacy Project are CRUISING in a Joint Venture to the Bahamas Aboard the Carnival Sunshine in October 2017. We are honored that we were asked to go. Faith will be covered, but we still have to come up with $750 each for Jesse, JD and myself. The Cruise is 5 days and I will need to bring her walker for the ship, canes for the room and her wheelchair for land. I would definitely have to have Jesse there to help me. I feel in my heart that her big brother JD deserves this just as much. Being a sibling of someone with special needs isn't easy sometimes. There have been many times I have been absent from different activities and/or not fully present, so I could take care of Faith. He has always been a big help with her when I need it and this would be a great opportunity for all of us to get away together as a family. In November United Needs & Abilities, Inc will be presenting Faith the Advocacy 2017 Excellence Award for all of her Accomplishments at their annual Dinner!! All funds will go towards the cost of the cruise so we can go as a family together and for all her therapies. She has been going for Occupational Therapy and Physical Therapy once a week. It adds up pretty quickly. We are in the process of purchasing another Walker specifically made for the treadmill therapy and want to invest in a Functional Electrical Stimulation System for home. She was also accepted into the Kennedy Krieger Intensive Therapy program this summer and it will be a month long where they will work with her 5-6 hours each day. I will be commuting everyday to Baltimore for that and we are not sure how much of it our insurance is going to cover for the program just yet or if they will cover any of it at. We are so grateful to have so many people supporting us in so many ways. Your words, your actions, your hugs, your likes and loves, comments and messages touch us every day and help us more than you know. Your our biggest cheerleaders and keep us going when we want to throw in the towel. So Thank You
