Life can be unpredictable, and sometimes it throws us challenges that we never saw coming. This was the case for my beloved sister Cherish and her family , Pat Smith and their son Keegan who received the devastating news of a cancer diagnosis In October, just two months after a negative mammogram in July 2023.
Cherish has been diagnosed with Stage 3 Her2 Triple Negative Invasive Ductal Carcinoma, a diagnosis that has turned her world upside down. The road ahead is filled with daunting challenges, including two intense rounds of 12-week back-to-back chemotherapy sessions, radiation, followed by a double mastectomy and ultimately breast reconstruction. The aggressive nature of her treatment has caused Cherish to stop working as of February per her Doctor’s recommendation, adding to the financial strain already imposed by mounting medical bills and household expenses.
Cherish is not just a cancer patient; she is a beloved daughter, sister, wife, mother, stepmother, grandmother, and a dedicated special education teacher. Her love, kindness, and unwavering spirit have touched the lives of many, both in and out of the classroom
As Cherish navigates through this difficult journey, we are reaching out to our community for support. Your generous contributions will help alleviate the financial burden on the Smith family, allowing them to focus on what truly matters: Cherish's health and well-being. Your donations will go towards covering medical expenses, prescription medications, household bills, transportation to and from treatments, and other essential needs that arise during this challenging time.
Every dollar, every share, and every word of encouragement makes a difference in Cherish's fight against cancer. Let's come together to lift her up in love, strength, and solidarity. Together, we can help ease the burden on the Smith family and ensure that Cherish receives the care and support she deserves.
Thank you for your kindness, generosity, and unwavering support during this difficult time.
With heartfelt gratitude,
Cherish, Pat and Keegan & the Smith Family Support Team
