Hello friends, as many of you know Ara is our wonderful 10 month old little girl. In February of 2017 she was diagnosed with MPS 1, otherwise known as Hurler Syndrome. This means that her body does not make an enzyme needed to break down a complex sugar. This disease affects about 1 in 100,000 children. There is currently no cure for this terminal disease. However it can be treated. She is currently undergoing one treatment option, which is her weekly enzyme replacement therapy. Another treatment option would be a bone marrow transplant for the missing enzyme. We have found a doctor that we would like to use that is conducting an experimental procedure that would greatly reduce the chance of infection associated with the transplant. We live in lower Alabama and the doctor we would like to use is approximately 1,200 miles away. Our insurance will cover the procedure however we set up this Go Fund Me to help cover living expenses and basic bills for two months while we are away from work. Please contribute and share this if you feel so inclined and thank you very much to all that do.
