Cody's Medical and Recovery Fund: I am starting this campaign on behalf of my nephew Cody Swenson for his Medical and Recovery bills.
Cody is a 25 year old handsome, smart, witty and vibrant young man who has had really bad luck over the past few years.
On February 12, 2016 Cody was in a accident skydiving at "Skydive Dallas" in Whitewright, TX.
He hit the ground going anywhere between 50 and 70 mph. Cody had to be lifeflighted out of Whitewright to the Medical Center of Plano, TX.
On February 18th, we currently learned that his Health Insurance Company does not want to pay for his claims. "His claims so far are at $ 248,000 and climbing". Cody has 2 broken legs (Femurs) and has fractures through his pelvis. Cody was told he should not even be alive, but something or someone was looking out for him. Cody is going to have months of physical therapy, doctors appointments and rehabilitation.
Cody is also a "Cancer Survivor", he was diagnosed at the age of 17 with "Ewing's Sarcoma" The cancer was located in his spine and vertebraes. He had 2 major surgeries involving the removal of the "Cancer " and years of Chemotherapy. Cody's 5 year survival rate was less than 50% when he was diagnosed with "Ewing's Sarcoma" in 2008, he beat these odds and has been cancer free 5+ years.
Once he survived this horrible disease, Cody wanted to feel free, to live life to the fullest, to experience what most of us are afraid too and never have a regret if the "Cancer" should return.
