My mother has been battling a mysterious cardiac issue for quite some time now, making it diffcult to function normally and impossible for her to work. She has been hospitalized several times with no answers as to what was happening to her until this current hospitalization.  Thanks to the amazing work of St. Lucie Medical and Lawnwood Regional Medical Center we are finally finding some answers.  
     Through rigorous testing they have found that she has Bilateral Subclavian Steal Syndrome, among other things. This means that the subclavian arties on both sides of her body are almost completely blocked, limiting blood flow to both her arms and her brain. A normal, healthy individual has 4 vessels bringing blood to their brain. Currently,  my mother has only one working vessel supplying blood to her brain. As you can imagine, this causes many complications.
    Unfortunately, they have found that she has several arties thickening and limiting blood flow. They have more tests to run before they can safely place stents. If they are able to place them, this would be the first of several surgeries to open up her arteries. She will not be able to work and because this has been such a long process of diagnosis,  she has been repeatedly denied disability. 
      My mother has always been a hard working woman who finds it hard to ask for help (probably where I get it from), but she is in desperate need of it. We don't know how long this process will be and it would be such a massive help if she didn't have to worry about her bills, so she can focus on her healing. Any amount helps.
