Save our Family Restaurant!
Spende geschützt
For the past 12 years we’ve been feeding the lovely city of Temecula, creating a loving environment in our establishment, connecting with families, and even having the honor of watching our regulars grow from children to young adults.
It is sad to say that we have been put in a position now where we may no longer be able to continue this service for our community and upkeep our relationships, due to the handling of a terrible situation by those managing our cozy plaza.
Around Christmas time of last year (December 2022), a fraudulent but experienced scammer began communicating with our head of the house, my uncle, Jay. Posing to be our relatively new manager that has managed the complex for just over a year after the retiring of the company of those we initially signed with. The email stated that changes would be made in payment form and that all clients of the “company” have been notified of such events. My uncle being the busy man he is and not at all experienced with online scammers, proceeded with requests that were asked of him. These payments continued from the start of the year until the end of April, when a 3 day pay or quit notice was delivered in our mailbox. My uncle received no calls or emails from our proper landlord for 4 months, the letter received was when he realized that he’d been a victim of a scam. When communicating with the company in April, the company’s attorney presented an email, including a bill statement noting missing rent with a response from my uncles account, that he never wrote himself.
When trying to reach out to those who personally manage our complex he was met with dismissal and a no contact message from the company’s Attorney notifying that only full payment will be accepted. My uncle has tried to communicate a plan of repayment but no communication has or ever will be accepted, this has been made clear to us. From the beginning of wire payments to the fraudulent account, from January through April, well over $12,000 has become unrecoverable. The same amount is past due as the lease balance as-well since being served the notice they’ve refused payments for May and June.
The livelihood of our business comes solely from our small family restaurant provided by those that have showed love and have continued to come back for over a decade. Those that manage our plaza still want their money of course, however we are now faced with the possibility of owing while no longer having the ability to work for the money owed. Which if presented this position, would be incredibly unjustified. This is due by the company’s refusal to hear us out about the unfortunate situation that we’ve happened to be apart of.
We have decided to create a go fund me due to the advice of an attorney that has communicated that we do not have much of a case, despite my uncles evidence of wire payments and emails, so we are preparing for the worst. We want to continue feeding the city of Temecula as we have for over a decade, even if that means a relocation of our store, however to owe to a company that has been unfair about our circumstance while being out of work in the meantime is entirely unfair given our history, in the city and in the plaza. All in all we’ve been honest servants of our community for the last 12 years and we ask for any help through go fund me, or support by coming by and grabbing an amazing bite made by us with plenty of love as it’s always been.
We hope to see you,
The Kunna family.
