Hi, my name is Jessica, and I’m reaching out to share an important and deeply personal update about my cousin Melissa.
Melissa is currently battling a number of health issues and is in need of help.
For those who might not know, she had a bad health episode in November 2019 that left her hospitalized for 3 months. From that, she lost all her muscle strength and unfortunately, is not able to walk on her own now. Melissa also has a lot of trouble with her breathing, swallowing, daily dizziness, and she has lost almost all her vision. The doctors initially diagnosed her with MS but shortly after have found that she has Lyme Disease as well as mold exposure, pesticides, and parasites throughout her body.
She has continually tried to heal herself over the past 5 years by trying different treatments and meeting different specialists, but these all are very costly and are becoming increasingly hard to fund. She depends on personal support workers to help her with basic human needs and daily tasks that she is unable to do herself like shower, getting dressed, and prepare meals.
She is on a small fixed income, that has not increased to match the recent inflation and cost of living. It only cover the basics, which is essentially housing and some food. On one low income, she is solely trying to manage the costly health treatments as well as provide for her daughters with this very limited income.
Needless to say; she is struggling to afford her health and it is ultimately affecting her day to day living. This unfortunate circumstance makes it harder to heal when she has to worry about how she's going to cover it all. The lack of funds for Melissa creates a stressful and difficult situation for her on top of the treatments and physical pain she experiences daily.
We have created this Go Fund Me page in hopes we can raise some funds to help her purchase a breathing machine, help pay for her private personal support worker as well as her ongoing medical treatments, all to help her on her path to healing.
I know how strong she is and that she will continue to get stronger and overcome these challenges. However, I want to help her and her girls the best I can and I hope you can help too!
If you can help please click the link and donate today. Please share with friends and family who may be able to help.
Thank you kindly ♡
