We might not be able to change the world, but we can make a difference in one life.
Heidi's Haven is tiny rescue who's goal is to try and make that difference in the lives of dogs, a few at a time in much the same way a dog, Heidi, made a difference in the life of her human.
Many of our dogs come to us from overcrowded rural shelters where, through the efforts of dedicated local volunteers, they are brought north in hopes of finding permanent homes. Our dogs are fostered in a private home and placed into permanent loving homes through a careful screening process. Every dog is an individual and we try to match them up with the right forever home.
We have set some ambitious goals for 2014. We would like to upgrade our fencing and create a fund to help us meet veterinary expenses for dogs coming in that are often in poor condition or require emergency care. We also want to raise money to create a tiny sanctuary for those dogs who, despite our best efforts, end up unplaceable - whether due to age, chronic medical conditions or behavioral quirks.
No amount is too small, and any amount is appreciated with heartfelt thanks. We are 501c3 (tax ID 45-3553783).
