I'm a private IT worker fallen on hard times like so very many. I live in a small apartment trying to make ends meet, but have found it more and more difficult to get regular work and can no longer afford basic rent and utilities. I'm asexual and single in my 40's, but do what I can to help take care of my mother and grandmother as well as her cat. I know there are many that need help and I don't mean to take donations away from others, but I'm desperate enough I have little choice but to ask all the same. I can stretch money to last and have some skill with cooking from scratch, so I'll make sure to make the most out of your donation. I do live in a hot climate with long summers but fortunately being in an apartment on a lower floor helps to cut down on electricity.
If you donate, I'll use your money to pay my rent, electric bill and phone. Currently I manage my food through SNAP benefits, but that's all we qualify for.
At the moment, I'm seeking steadier work, amid a sea of other people from my industry seeking the same after layoffs. Once I do get the steady job I'm seeking, I intend to pay back every cent forward to others who need it. For now, just know that you'll be keeping a roof over our heads, preventing heat exhaustion, and keeping us fed.
This is embarrassing, and I prefer to earn my keep rather than beg, but pride falls first when the need is dire. I apologize for the imposition, and thank anyone that can spare some cash. Even $30 makes a massive difference. I also run a eBay store and am still selling off old belongings you can peruse instead, which I'd prefer whenever possible.
These days, I've been more of an activist, with a modest online presence making my support for progressive civil rights known, and some real world activity best kept anonymous for now. If my growing free time offers me anything, it's more opportunities to stand up for others.
