Hello, my name is Zach and Jamie; our sister and daughter is in a really difficult situation. Life brings up challenges and difficult situations that we have to face. My family is going through a really hard time in life right now. My sister was diagnosed with Rhabdomyosarcoma on August 24, 2022, which is a cancer of the muscle and bone. She has to undergo 62 weeks of Chemotherapy which has started. She had to have a port placed and a bone marrow biopsy was done on August 26, 2022. She started her first round of Chemo in the very early morning hours of August 27, 2022, and she seems to be handling it very well so far. Sammi has to go to Riley's for weekly treatment starting Thursday September 1st; every third Thursday, she will have a long day where all three Chemo drugs will be given, and we will stay overnight at Riley's. Once we hit the 40-week mark, she and her parents will be living at Riley's, where Radiation will be given at that time. She will have to have scans every four months to ensure that the Chemo is shrinking this nasty disease. Sammi has already had to undergo 3 CT Scans and a PET scan. Sammi is a cheerleader for an amazing company and has been for seven years; she is also a brown belt in Taekwondo and is ready to earn her black belt. She also is a manager for the volleyball team at Fagley Middle School. Sammi is currently not going to school due to the seriousness of this disease. If she does want to attend in-person school, she will have to wear a mask the whole day. Sammi will also have to be given a monthly shot to keep her White Blood Cell count up so her immune system will stay healthy. She and her family are in need of your help. She’s a smart, talented young girl, a fighter; she will fight this cancer and win. At this time, her mom has to quit her job and stay home with Sammi because she needs constant care while enduring something no one wishes a person let alone a child, should ever go through. If you could, she needs your help; any donations, big or small, will be greatly appreciated as our family struggles through this situation. My family and I appreciate you!
