I know it's been extra hard this year; life literally got turned upside down for all of us. Going back to school has not been a clear path for any students and it still remains uncertain. I want to ask a huge favor and I hope you will help our inner city youth initiative--BEAT The STREETS.
Our effort to make the world a more fair and just place starts with kids--they are our future. Our program through the 3PointFoundation has helped enrich the life of kids here in Boston. We raise funds and awareness through our BEAT The STREETS competition and I hope you will consider participating. You don't have to be the strongest, fastest or best--when you show up you make a huge difference in the life of a child. All the funds we raise go towards the after school enrichment programs run by the 3PointFoundation. Right now those kids need to know we care!
I will be running a fitness enrichment program on Zoom for kids and teens in Boston starting next week--I volunteer my time for free--but the 3PointFoundation has expenses that go with running enrichment programs for over 300 kids. When the shutdown happened in March the 3PF didn't miss a beat--they pivoted to online and continued the program for all kids by providing them with resources and curriculum. Imagine being stuck in your apartment with no outlet--our youth continue to be stuck inside because many don't feel safe in their neighborhoods. Where you live should not determine your safety and certainly not the level of education you get. However, that is exactly what our inner city youth are experiencing and the chasm of education continues to grow as this pandemic continues to disrupt our lives.
Over here are IRON & GRIT we are getting ready to have a fundraiser on Saturday, November 7th. We like to throw down and raise funds! If you can't get a team together perhaps you will consider donating directly to the 3PointFoundation. Our kids need you!
