Dear Friends & Colleagues,
On March 3rd my friend and mentor, Rick Wells, suffered a serious stroke that left him bed ridden and unable to speak. Within a few days he was walking again with some assistance and he began to slowly regain his motor skills. Rick’s progress with other cognitive skills such as speech and memory has been much slower.
It’s been just over 2 months since the stroke and although Rick continues to improve, it may be several months before he has made sufficient progress to be able to return to work. Needless to say, with his inability to work during this time, any income still coming in has slowed significantly. Although Rick would never be one to share any financial woes, I’m sure his day to day bills, as well as any medical costs that are not covered, are beginning to pile up. Rick has been a General Appraiser (commercial & residential) for over 35 years and still has great passion for his profession. He recently requested to ride along with me on an inspection just so he could vicariously feel involved in the work in which he takes such pride.
A health crisis like the one that has occurred to Rick could happen to any of us or our loved ones at any given time. I would like to reach out to all of Rick’s friends and peers, and ask that you donate what you are able, to help see Rick and his wife Shari through this very difficult time.
Thank you all and may God Bless ~Ken Campana
