Hi everyone, my name is Mackenzie, and I’m reaching out for support as I begin nursing school — a lifelong dream that’s finally becoming reality.

I’ve worked hard to support myself while completing my prerequisites, balancing full-time work in healthcare with long study hours. I currently work as a Patient Care Technician, where I’ve witnessed firsthand the difference that compassionate, skilled nurses make every single day. That experience has only strengthened my desire to become one of them.

This January, I’ll be starting my Nursing program — which includes full days of classes, labs, and clinical rotations up to five days a week. While I’m beyond grateful for this opportunity, it also means I won’t be able to maintain my current work schedule. As someone who mostly supports myself, that loss of income creates a serious financial challenge.
