Help Brad on his journey to fight cancer.
My son Brad has stage 4 cancer. He is only 42 years old. He is terminal. He has been married over 15 years. He has a son, Brad Jr and a daughter, Bella.
I have looked into the American cancer society and have met with Palliative care at John Hopkins hospital about programs and volunteers for transportation. I was told there is no programs. Volunteers do not want to drive that far. Brad does not have Medicaid.
Brad needs funds to get to John Hopkins hospital in Baltimore, MD from Newark, De for chemo treatments to have a chance to watch his children grow up. Please help him get the treatment he needs to fight his fight against cancer.
Brad has been on disability for six years since he had a liver transplant at John Hopkins hospital. The transplanted liver gave him West Nile virus and he almost died. As his mother watching him fight through all this has been the hardest thing I've ever had to face. I admire his strength and his positive attitude. I could not get through all of this without my faith in Jesus and the support of my family, friends and church.
I can't take Brad to John Hopkins. I bought a new Nissan rogue in 2020. The car has broken down 5 times in 4 years. The same problem each time. The 4th time was when my granddaughter, Bella and I took Brad to John Hopkins in Baltimore. It broke down as we left the hospital. Nissan of America refused to give me a new car. They said again for the 5th time they have fixed the car. At my age, I can't take the chance of driving this car on the thruway and it breaking down again. I'm 69 years old. I retired 7 years ago from the University of Delaware but to help my son I went back to work part time.
Family and friends are doing all they can to help. I would not ask for help for my son if I didn't have to. He has never asked for help from me or anyone else. It breaks my heart that I can't do more for my son and his family. Brad found out he had cancer the end of May 2024. The same day Brad went to the hospital my husband had a seizure and went in the hospital too. He has osteoporosis and when he had his seizure he broke his knee and had to have surgery. He is now in a wheelchair. Brad was our caregiver. Now I am a caregiver for them.
Believe me I am doing all I can financially and physically to help my family. My husband and I are on a fixed income. My part-time job helps with food and medicine for Brad. I'm just asking for enough money to get Brad safely to and from John Hopkins hospital. If you are not able to help us financially please help us pray daily for the chemo to work. The rest is in God's hands.
