Petty Officer Michael Gomez
My youngest brother, Michael, enlisted in the United States Navy upon graduating from Bear Creek High School in 2016. Michael has reached the rank of Petty Officer E4 and is stationed in Norfolk, Virginia. Michael is humble, positive, caring and enjoys CrossFit. He loves this country and is proud to serve.
On May 28th of this year, Michael has been diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML) a type of blood cancer. His first round of treatment was unsuccessful. Next month Michael will be transferred to Duke University Medical Center in Durham, North Carolina. He will undergo further treatment yet to be fully determined.
I am starting this page to help my parents with the unexpected financial impacts this will have. From air travel, car rentals, hotel accommodations, food & supplies. My mom is planning to be with Michael indefinitely. My dad will be traveling back and forth from North Carolina-California. I am asking everyone to contribute anything possible.
