My name is Lucas Rodriguez, and in 2013, I was diagnosed with Celiac Disease, which is a long term autoimmune disease mostly concerned with the small intestine. The only treatment is a life-time gluten-free diet, but if left untreated, it can lead to different cancers and a slightly increased risk of early death. As of now, there is an estimated 2.5 million who have this disease in the US alone, and around 80% are either unaware or have been misdiagnosed. For this reason, there is a need for increased awareness and research for a cure. 

I'm hosting a 3on3 basketball tournament to raise awareness and $$$ for Celiac Disease, on May 20th 2017 at Tamiami Basketball in Miami. The donations will go to BeyondCeliac, an organization dedicated to raising awareness for Celiac Disease and money for research & a cure.
