Hi, my name is Andrew. I am a Marine veteran who served in Iraq in '08-'09 and Afghanistan in 2010 as an infantryman. For my second deployment I became an Improvised Explosive Detector Dog (IDD) handler. I handled Jazz P418. She was an extremely loyal, determined, and effective partner! I had never had a dog before but I quickly learned why they say a dog is man's best friend. After she retired I adopted her as a pet. She is eleven now but very youthful. On April 20th I took her to the vet because she didn't seem well. They determined that Jazz had a massive tumor on her spleen. It had to be removed. The next day she had her surgery, but we found out that the tumor was actually highly involved with her intestines. She would up having most of her intestines removed. The doctors say she has a good chance to recover but it's going to be a very long road for her. Unfortunately this is where I need help. Her road to recovery is going to be very expensive for me. She served by my side and has been a tremendous light in my life. Please help me save hers.
