Moving 2,000 Miles Home To Retire...

First let me state that I'm aware that there are so many other more important GoFundMes out there. I'm blessed enough to know that this situation could be far worse. This campaign is not a life or death situation in the general sense. However, for my mother, it is certainly starting to feel that way.

My mother is a preschool teacher who is finally able to retire. I'm extremely happy for her because she has always been so giving and loving to everyone else in her life. And I want to help ease some of her stress. I will be going with her to help her move 2,000 next Monday the 29th across the country.

When she was originally planning for this trip she was in contact with someone who works at Penske who was going to give her a good deal on the moving truck. We waited over a week to hear back from this individual but he flaked out and never contacted my mother again. So because we waited that week for him, the price of the truck went up about $700 above what it already was so her expenses have gone through the roof due to this individual dropping the ball. The gas money we were going to use now has to go towards renting the truck, with a car carrier, and the supplemental insurance. We have looked through U-Haul, Budget, Penske, PODS, U-pack, as well as several other moving companies and Penske was the cheapest. It is $3,267 for a 22 foot truck, the car carrier, and the insurance. Plus unlimited miles. We have some of that money but now we are struggling because the price went up on us for the truck. The money we were going to use for gas now has to go towards the truck. And that doesn't even count food or a place to stop and sleep.

I can only contribute so much financially, so I began a GoFundMe as a last resort to help raise funds to get my mother safely across the country. I understand that none of you know me from Adam but if anyone is able to donate ANYTHING, we would forever be thankful.

I just want my mother to be able to move home where she'll be happy and be able to retire in peace. The stress and anxiety of all this is extremely overwhelming on both of us.

I've never panhandled before, so I'm embarrassed even setting up this GoFundMe. But I'm concerned for the safety of this trip.
