Matt McPhail was diagnosed with squamous cell carcinoma. He will have surgery at Emory Hospital in Atlanta within the next month, as soon as they can get him in. The surgery will be pretty intense and he will be hospitalized for 7-10 days. Within six weeks of surgery, he will undergo radiation treatments. He will have treatments Monday-Friday at Emory for six weeks. Anyone who knows Matt knows that he is not one to ask for help. He has the biggest heart of anybody I know and would give you the shirt right off his back. His family is right beside him and will be helping in this fight. But he also needs help on the financial side. I am setting up this page so that he will have help to cover the costs of treatments and travel expenses. It would help alleviate some of the burden placed on his shoulders.
His mind needs to stay focused on getting healed. I know all of his extra energy will be used towards spending time with Patrick. We are grateful for anything you can give. We are especially grateful for prayers during this time.
