Artistic Alchemy: Fuel a Creative Project that Transforms Materials into Magic

What happens when two lives, of remarkable similarities, cross paths and spark a chance opportunity for creative connection and transformative metamorphosis? Both Judith and Kelsey, as established actors in performing careers, share a passion for painting. After a serendipitous meeting through bodyART Studios, Judith offered to let Kelsey reimagine a series of her old paintings that had been uncovered in storage. This magical meeting was the launch pad that jump-started this intergenerational convergence of art.

This project is a celebration of the transformation of ideas, sustainable recycling, and intergenerational connection between female artists. The residency will take place at The Box Factory in Brooklyn, where large canvases donated by Judith Barcroft will be repurposed and given new life by Kelsey Strauch who's artist name is Kalcium Fortified. The stories and history of the paintings will be archived and reimagined into new works by Kalcium Fortified, creating a beautiful and unique story that celebrates the power of women supporting women in the arts.
