Males to Men's Nile Valley Aquaponics 100,000 Pounds of Food Green House Project in the urban core of Kansas City Mo. We are raising funds to complete the build of a duplicable model, that can provide access to healthy quality chemical free food (fish and vegetables), change an urban or rural landscape, and provide green sustainable economic development in either a community or business model. We need to secure the funds to complete the this green house build as soon as possible as the winter is approaching.
The Funds will be used to purchase lumber, led lights, fish, pumps, insulation, pvc/pex pipes, insects, aerators, rainwater catchment and contract work needed to complete the build of our 144 ft long by 30ft wide greenhouse. After receiving the funds we will be selfsustaing by creating our own market, and using funds from the sell of our produce and fish to purchase solar power and a battery backup system to become off of the grid, ultimately making our system 95% self sustaining until we start harvesting our own seeds making us 100% self sustaining.
This project means a lot to this community blighted by crime, the lack of economic opportunity and access to healthy quality food. For all of the community efforts the neighbors will receive free food from our aquaponic system as well as our raised beds. It has been all volunteer work and services dedicated to this project to this point which speaks volumes to buy in we have to the community and them believing what we stand for and trying to accomplish. We would like to reward this community, and partnering organizations with a model that we hoped to be duplicated across the world. We would greatly appreciate achieving our goal as we would be able hire people from the neighborhood and provide them job opportunities learned from this great experience.
