The elders of our church have graciously granted Denes a 3-month sabbatical starting July 16. This sabbatical is for the purposes of rest, reconnecting, and refocusing. Thank the Lord, most of our expenses during this time will be normal expenses. But we have the opportunity to go, for 3 weeks, to a Pastoral Retreat Center near Kalamazoo, MI.

Alongside Ministries hosts 3-week retreats for pastors and other ministry workers and their families dealing with exhaustion, lack of vision, and burn-out. Pastors meet in groups, receive individual counseling, attend workshops, and have plenty of time for rest and prayer. Besides that, they have help for Pastor's wives and kids, too. Friends of ours have been to Alongside retreats, and have highly recommended that we take part in one. We would like to make this part of our sabbatical experience. We believe it will be healing and restorative.

The Alongside retreat we will attend takes place from September 5-22.

The program costs are due on the first day of the retreat. We've already put down our $500 deposit.
