Hi and THANK YOU for visiting my page!!!

I'm Jamora, and I recently received an incredible opportunity to attend The School of The New York Times Summer Academy! Exciting, right!! It's a program that offers young aspiring journalists hands-on experience learning from real professionals in the field. This program would allow me to grow my skills, and explore my interest for storytelling.

I’m currently participate in the M.A.R.C Program — a leadership initiative that engages metro Atlanta high school students in hands-on learning about the region’s planning and development. I also serve in BETA Club, Student Council, and as a Student Ambassador at my school along with completed several volunteer events. I love being involved, meeting new people, and finding ways to make my community better.

This past summer, I spent an amazing week at the University of Georgia Journalism Camp and fell in love with writing, broadcasting, and storytelling. I had the chance to visit New York earlier this year for a volunteer opportunity — and honestly, I didn’t want to leave! So being invited to this journalism academy feels like everything is coming full circle.

I'm reaching out to family, friends, and community to help make this dream a reality. Any support would mean the world to me. Please help me take advantage of this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to learn from some of the best in the industry.

Here’s how your support helps:

*Tuition for the 2-week Summer Journalism Academy @ New York Times

*Housing in Downtown Manhattan, Meals, and Transportation

*Hands-on workshops, Newsroom visits, and off-campus activities such as Broadway Shows!

Every contribution, big or small, helps me get one step closer to New York. Thanks Everyone!!

Gratefully Yours!!

Jamora "Journaling J" Harris
