Erin Battles Chemotherapy!
Friends and Family - In mid-February, Erin Menapace had what was thought to be a very successful surgery, to remove a molar pregnancy (also known as a gestational trophoblastic tumor). A second surgery and further test results quickly revealed that the tumor had metastasized and also spread slightly to her lungs. Doctors determined she would need chemotherapy, and she has had three doses as of 4/10. Chemo has been tough on her - no matter how hard she tries to hang in there, it's taking a huge toll.
We are asking for HELP on behalf of two amazing people, our son Justin, and his lovely wife, Erin. They would NEVER ask anyone themselves, so we are asking for them!
Erin is amazing. She is a working mother of three children (Elvi -4, Elijah-2, and Jonah-1), who drove her daughter to school and dance, cooked dinner, cleaned the house, did the laundry and was involved in church activities a minimum of 3 times per week. Her entire way of life changed within 24 hours of receiving her first dose of chemotherapy. Someone who did it all just can't do it right now! Because of this, Justin is also missing work while caring for Erin, their three children, maintaining their home and still fulfilling church responsibilities. He is doing his best to cover all of the responsibilities they usually share.
Justin and Erin are both very loving, giving, and faithful Christians who would do anything for anyone at anytime. They have traveled overseas to do mission work, and just countless random acts of kindness that have blessed many lives. There is no kinder, braver, cooler or more open and accepting soul than Erin. She's been there for so many of us and she needs us right now.
Some of you may know Justin from his work at The Spa at Hotel Hershey, Erin for her work at Pennsylvania Counseling Services, and both of them through us or from their faithful work at Tri-County Worship Center. Their church family has been a huge source of strength in providing prayers, support, and meals, and in relieving Justin of some of his home responsibilities, for which we are all grateful. But at this time, we would like to ask all of you to think, pray, and donate if possible for this beautiful family in need! All donations will be used to pay for medical bills and to cover their missed wages. It's hard for them to ask for help, so we're doing that for them. We need to support our beautiful Erin, who brings so much strength and joy and laughter to so many in her world. She's down right now, and she needs OUR strength.
Thank you so much in advance for your time, kind thoughts, prayers and donations! Please feel free to contact us if you have any questions.
