Chechitos Battle with Cancer.
My name is Lupita Hernandez and I’m creating this Gofundme in behalf of my 22 yr old brother, Jose (well known as Chechito) and his family.
August 2021, Chechito began to experience swelling in his right leg. We didn’t think anything of it and decided to let the swelling go down on it’s own. After a few months of the on and off swelling, it started to cause him more pain and discomfort with any little movement he would do.
We first took him to the ER at The King City Memorial Hospital and all they said was “it’s inflammation” and he was only given antibiotics. We trusted it would go away but the pain continued, so his partner took him to Salinas Natividad Hospital (keep in mind more than 3x back to back.) After seeing him in constant pain, we decided to drive him out to a Doctor in Mexico which took maybe a day or two for results to come back. The doctor then gave us a call saying “no esperen más llévenlo al hospital de emergencia le encontramos unos tumores” (Don’t wait any longer. We found tumors, take him to the hospital immediately.)
That exact day we took him to The Salinas Memorial Hospital & explained what was going on and we also showed the results from Mexico. That’s when they started running so many tests, biopsies, and blood work yet no answers were given. He was left with the result of being discharged with more pain meds, once again. March 18, 2022, Chechito was admitted to The Stanford Hospital. On the first day, they did an emergency spine surgery to remove a tumor and shortly after, he was diagnosed with Stage 4 Cancer as well as a blood clot on his right leg in which upsettingly, the other hospitals did not detect sooner.
Since March 2022, my little brother has been in and out of the hospital with so much pain and no mobility whatsoever, hoping the “most aggressive chemo” and radiation will help battle this cancer. We’ve just been informed that unfortunately the chemo he’s been taking for the past 3 months has not been working and they will be starting a new medication of chemotherapy in hopes for it to make him better.
Chechito has his whole future ahead of him with partner & two beautiful baby boys, a 4 year old and 7month old. All he wants is to feel better & gain back his strength to be able to hold his babies without having unbearable pain. We ask you all to keep him in your prayers & any donation/prayer is greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance.
