In 2015 at only 42 years old, Cara, my wife, got news that she had a malignant lump in her left breast. She had a full mastectomy and reconstructive surgery and thought, since the affected ducts and tissues were removed, that she had irradicated the problem.
In 2018, however, more cancer grew back on the side of the same reconstructed breast. So, regardless of the thuroughness of the first surgery, we had to do it again getting another 2cm oblong growth removed!
Cara's PET scans have been clean and nothing has ever gone into her lymph nodes, thank God, but we need help keeping it that way! Instead of utilizing the harsh Tamoxifen/Lupron/Radiation therapy suggested, Cara has opted to sideline the 50 year old drugs/methods and enter into the many immuno-therapy methods of treating cancer prevalent on the cutting edge of modern research.
Cara is seeing a private nutritionist, guidance counsellors at Memorial Sloan Kettering, and is battling the way we all should, with the correct food that sets the body into an environment that can not feed the estrogen hungry breast cancer! Cara is having great success at keeping her body alkaline, inflammation free, and healthier that she's ever been!
After recent blood work and PET scans, this is working, but we need help! Organic food for not only her, but the whole family, is the goal. But, there is so much more that is needed. There are supplements that block the bad estrogen and keep the good estrogen. Their are system cleansers. There are magnesium balancers, etc.!
None of these things or methods are covered by insurance companies as of yet. The industry (Pfizer, etc.) is currently, successfully researching immuno-therapy cancer methods. This approach is working from case to case, but the bulk of these companies' budgets still go to all the current processes, drugs & needs, leaving the R&D going, but not the driving force of companies' main revenue streams.
Our choice is what I call choosing a living method for battling cancer rather than a dying method. We have a great team of nutritionists, oncologists, surgeons and technicians at Memorial Sloan Kettering in Manhattan and close-by consultants in Staten Island. We also have great insurance, but this approach is totally different from the norm!!
So, to do all this, we need your help in sustaining all the various supplements, organic food purchases/delivery services, juicing equipment, scans and assessments. We also need all the resources to reduce stresses in the home, ensuring that the Kay household is always a great, positive and healing environment for not only Cara, but all who visit and seek healing!
Cara is a strong and bright gift to all of us. She is an educator, a writer, a community leader, a business partner, an artist, a mother, a grandmother, a wife, a daughter, a friend, and a co-worker - just to name a few wonderful things.
But most of all, she is our loved family member and we want/need her healthy and living for many years! We also want to share all we learn about this process so that you can also help your loved ones - especially if they are not responding to the typical Tamoxifen, chemo and/or radiation treatments.
Not one of us can escape the fact that we will all have to part the Earth at some moment. But when that timing is cut short by a nasty disease like breast cancer, we all have a common desire - protect our loved ones and prolong a healthy, thriving and productive life! To do that, Cara and I are going to discover the correct way to stop breast cancer at it's origin - an unbalanced system!
As treatment is needed now, as our lifestyle needs de-stressed now, and as we are already in the process of buying these things and paying for specialists with no end in sight, our need is immediate!
For the joy of the human spirit and the power of family/community, please help us re-gain peace and take victory over anything that has been lost to this diagnosis!
