Friends, Family and Well-Wishers, My family received devastating news regarding my brother-in law Robert “Bert” Bennett. Bert was diagnosed with Stage IV Lung Cancer. Stage IV non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) is the most advanced form of the disease. In stage IV the cancer has metastasized, or spread, beyond the lungs into other areas of the body and in Bert’s case it has spread into his bones and lymph nodes. The harsh reality of being diagnosed with cancer is bad enough but the financial burden that comes with it can be equally devastating. The bills have already begun and Bert is unable to work at this point. We want him to focus on his treatment and not the financial aspect. This man is one of the kindest souls that you will ever meet. Bert is a father who adores his 2 children, a brother who loves his siblings, and an uncle who is adored by his nieces and nephews. He is also a friend who you can count on no matter what. He loves to fish and whether he is on the river or at a golf course (yes I said golf course), he always seems to catch something. He is also a great softball player who has played all over the United States in various tournaments and enjoys playing golf. I started this page so that Bert can pay his regular bills as well as the medical bills that are coming. We are hoping that he will be able to get into some clinical trials and with this fund he would not have to worry about his financial situation. No donation is too small!
