Our sweet friend, Denise, is a hard-working, loving, single mother who is having surgery this week. She has a very high insurance deductible and out of pocket medical expenses to pay and needs your financial support. Thank you, in advance, for your donation and keeping Denise in your prayers!
This is her story:
After years of fighting autoimmune diseases, and numerous other health issues, researching revealed the dangers of breast implants and the illnesses that are often associated with having these foreign objects placed into the body. It was time to take a stand for my health. I have made my journey public in hopes that it brings more awareness to the very real dangers of breast augmentation.
En bloc Capsulectomy is the removal of the implants and all of the surrounding scar tissue that forms around the breast implant. The goal is to remove the implant and scar encapsulation in one piece as to avoid any further contamination from the contents in the capsule such as heavy metals, chemicals, silicone, biotoxins and microorganisms that are known to grow in capsules. This is a painstaking and meticulous procedure that aims to remove every bit of the capsule, including any sections that have adhered to the chest wall and ribs. With a ruptured silicone implant, it can be very difficult to remove the spilled gel from the surrounding tissue and it is often necessary to resect breast tissue. This is comparable to a mastectomy and can cause disfigurement of the breasts. En bloc removal is the most important piece to recovery from breast implant illness. Once removed, specimens will be sent to pathology for further testing to verify which contaminants are present and to rule out cancer.
