Funds to support Mully Children's Family
Donation protected
On September 21, we're headed to Kenya to spend a week with Mully Children’s Family (MCF) , a Kenya-based non-profit that rescues (and becomes a family for) orphans from the slums of Nairobi and surrounding areas. MCF gives these children new life: food, shelter, clothing, education, medical care, spiritual guidance, mentorship and, most importantly, security knowing they’re loved. The Kenyan founder of MCF, Charles Mulli, was orphaned at a young age, but rose to the pinnacle of financial and societal success. In 1989, after wrestling with God for years about his calling, Mulli gave up his life of comfort and fortune to rescue children living alone in extreme poverty. (There’s a great movie on Amazon Video about Mulli’s story; check out the trailer here for an overview of his story, and put the movie on your watch list!)
The trip is already off to an inspiring start. Everyone going has decided to pay for their trip out of their own pockets, with everyone making a personal investment of $2,000-3,000 to cover their airfare, lodging, and personal expenses. That said, we’re seeking to have an impact on MCF beyond our own presence and work by raising additional funds to assist the organization and the kids it serves. Specifically, we’re seeking to provide financial assistance towards building a new 80-bed dormitory (including mattresses, bedding, mosquito nets, and towels). In 2018, MCF rescued 530 kids; in 2019, they’re expecting over 220 more. I encourage you to visit this site to learn more about the specific need for dormitories at MCF.
We'll need your prayers throughout this journey, for us and the team with whom we're traveling, for the kids we’ll be serving, and for our amazing wives holding down the fort while we're away.
In addition to your prayers, if you feel led to give financially, we will personally ensure 100% of your donation goes directly toward a worthy cause at MCF.
We appreciate your time, love, and encouragement, and we look forward to sharing our experiences with you when we return!
With gratitude,
Adam, Alex, and Bryan
