Selby and The Big Communitea Stand With Ukraine

Tetyana has a mother father and close relatives living in Ukraine. When she spoke to her Mother and Father on Wednesday, her mother was in the bunker below their block of flats. Whilst she was talking explosions were going off in the back ground. Her father is too old and frail to get up and down the stairs. There is no lift, as there is no power. He sits in their 7th story flat waiting for the rockets to hit. Not knowing if the call with his daughter will be the last. They have very little food, and no warm clothing, as it gets damp And without gas and electricity there is no way to keep dry. The amazing people of Selby Have come together providing Bedding, clothing, sleeping bags, food, torches, batteries, phones, and phone chargers. These items are so badly needed, and they need to be put into the hands of the people that need them most. Communitea Are a small mental health charity in Selby. We are not only sending over the items listed above, but we are going with them to make sure they get to the right place at the right time. The staff that are going are mental health trained, and speak various languages, which will be helpful for the countries that we will pass through. We now need money for fuel, accommodation, ferry, road tolls and Ukrainian people need help with food, water, essentials goods and hygiene kits, or any other help they need at this moment . Please help us, to help those that really; at this moment can’t help themselves. Some of them have lost everything. So please look under your mattresses and in the corners of the cupboards. And dig out any old holiday money or just donate through this page. Thank you
