A Service Dog :)

Hi friends! My name is Thanos, I’m from Florida! And my mom? Well she’s pretty cool. Help me, help my mom :) I am looking forward to helping her become more independent and more confident navigating her new world! I’m here to help her with any balance issues she has, and to keep people from knocking her over in public (and so much more!). In order to do this, I have to go through many classes and eventually a big graduation test, and that costs a lot of money! But anything to help my mom :) Any contributions will go straight to me, my classes, my specific mobility harness, and any other costs associated. I’m so excited to meet her next week and I can’t wait to grow big, tall, and strong to help my mommy!!

 

Hi! My name is Meredith and I am a 26 year old disabled female! I got sick in October 2020, and I am now deemed a spinal cord injury. I spent 3 months in Duke neuro ICU and 3 months at WakeMed inpatient rehab. I have had six brain surgeries, four back surgeries, two neck surgeries, and three abdominal surgeries. I am asking for some assistance on a service dog :) I have applied for many since I have been out of rehab, but I am continually rejected. So, I have decided to buy my own dog and send him to service classes! I am looking for mobility support because balance is my biggest issue. I’m looking into a Great Dane due to their size and protective manner. I want him to help me walk in public and prevent people from bumping into me and knocking me over. Unfortunately, this does happen (often), and with the help of a dog, I will be even more independent and won’t need another person to help guard me when out and about. He will also be able to do many more things that I need help with, but these are my biggest wishes. With your help, this money will go towards the cost of my dog, the multitude of classes and tests he must attend and pass to become an official service dog, a mobility assist harness when he’s fully grown, first year veterinary visits, and any extra will go to food and toys!
