Faith's fight against cancer
Donation protected
On February 19th our lives changed forever. My beautiful 22 year old daughter Faith started to experience severe pain and bleeding. We rushed her to the nearest hospital. A few hours later we were told that she had a tumor in her kidney and a suspicious shadow on her spine. Three days later after every attempt to stop the bleeding didn't work Faith had to have a radical nephrectomy (complete removal of her left kidney).

happier times!
While still in the hospital recovering doctors confirmed that Faith had two destructive lesions on her spine and one on her hip. We still had hope that it was NOT cancer. Our prayers were that they had gotten it all out with the removal of her kidney and all of the surrounding tissue and lymph nodes. Unfortunately this was not to be. We we were fortunate enough to get her into one of the top cancer hospitals in the country Memorial Sloan Kettering. And it was quickly confirmed that the lesions were cancer and that my baby has stage 4 metastatic kidney cancer. Unfortunately not only does she have this horrible disease, but hers is a very rare cancer especially for someone her age. Faith will undergo radiation in a few days and later in the month targeted therapy, immunotherapy and possibly chemotherapy. Faith's dad and I have been maintaining full time jobs while caring for Faith and getting her to an exorbitant amount of appointments. Financially things are already very tight. The bills have started coming in from her surgery and the co pays for her many dr appointments are killing us. And we haven't even started treatment yet! The cost for just one visit to MSK can easily set us back $60 excluding food. We are forced to take cabs to keep travel time to a minimum because her back pain is so severe.
My sick, personal and vacation days are very quickly dwindling. Faith is on my health insurance and once my paid days off run out my time away will be unpaid which ultimately means I will have to choose between being able to take care of her and getting her to appointments and not getting paid which will affect me being able to pay my health insurance (payroll deducted). Losing my insurance is not an option that Faith can afford right now so I have been splitting my days between taking her to appointments and going to work which means paying carfare between home, work, home to get Faith, doctor and home again. A day like this costs us about $100.

Through it all Faith has been in great spirits and has kept us all from falling apart. We are so thankful for her and we plan to fight this disease and win!!
Any donation no matter the size could make a huge difference in our fight! If you can't make a donation that is ok we will take the love, prayers and shares!! Many blessings to you all! Please share:)
