The VA took William's money

This morning I found out that the VA took so much money out of my check that I won't be able to pay bills. I don't even have enough to pay rent. The reason being is I have been going to school using my G.I. Bill. Well apparently, the VA was paying me too much (for a short while) because of the paper work that my school sent them. As a result I had a debt to the VA that I was unaware of. I tried talking to them about a giving me a refund and letting me make out a payment plan but they refused. I absolutely hate to ask for help in this situation but if I can't pay these bills, my family will be put on the streets. I pawned my gun just to get food. As of now, I've pawned just about everything of value so I can get caught up with all this bills. The divorce on top of all this has made everything even more difficult and stressful. There are things I need to pay in order to stay near my children. I can't lose them. Please help if you can.
I'm sorry for asking for help but I really need it. Any help is appreciated.
