My name is Bryce. I'm 22 years old and I live in a small town in Kansas. My family is very close and they are right behind me through thick and thin. My story starts when I was 16. I was in a serious motorcycle accident which lead to breaking a vertebrae in my neck, separated my shoulder, and breaking a couple more bones. The part that everyone didn't see was I actually pulled the C8 nerve roots out of my spine completely controlling my right arm. If you stretch, tear, or even pull a couple of these nerves out, it can be fixed with time and patience but I had to pull every single one out completely... we looked and looked and looked for doctors to fix me... but no luck. A year or 2 went past and we just wanted something to help me, we just wanted some hope. Finally we found some! One of my brothers friends from my small town got ahold of us and told us about the Mayoclinic in Rochester MN. They work with this stuff everyday! We started going up to MN regularly to get results, to get hope, to get fixed. Unfortunately our technology only goes so far. I've been to the mayoclinic around 15 times now and had 4 surgeries done. We now see progress in my right arm to at least help out in my daily life. More problems have turned up and now my good arm (left arm) is getting really weak. That's caused by spinal fluid and blood leaking out of the nerve root holes which is compressing my spine. The doctors tried to fix my good arm once now, very painful, with no results..... me and my family are up at the mayoclinic getting answers again as I type this message. More surgeries are coming my way. Very painful and a very long healing process. All I am trying to do is get some pressure off of my parents shoulders. To let the stressing, and worrying pass for just awhile. Even if you don't want to donate, just give me your prayers please. It's a very cruel life, but you can't give up. You only have one. Think about everything you have in your life and cherish it all. Things could change in a blink of an eye. God bless you all. Thanks for reading.
