Support Mona's Fight Against Breast Cancer

I am currently raising funds for my grandmother, Mona, who was recently diagnosed with stage 4 metastatic breast cancer. When my grandmother went to the ER on May 17th, 2024 for ongoing joint and back pain, we received the devastating news. The cancer has spread to her lungs and bones.

She was hospitalized at Lafayette general for 2 weeks with no insurance coverage. She received targeted radiation to relieve pain and her doctors started her on hormone therapy. Unfortunately, the cancer is too advanced for further treatment and our goal is to keep her comfortable. 

Mona has not had insurance since her husband, Tony, was laid off from his oilfield job years ago. This resulted in them both losing health insurance. Mona was denied state and federal programs to help her pay for further care. She also was not offered many financial resources from the hospital. Bills are piling up and she still needs more care at home. 

We are devastated and trying to cope with this situation on top of being her main caregivers. She needs hospice care, medical equipment for at home and help paying for her medication. All donations will be used to help pay for those things. We appreciate anything you can give, including prayers for our family.
