Imagine waking up like you do everyday, but this
day is even more special because your oldest child turns 18. You do your normal routine. Go to work, pick up your kids, and go on with your normal day,
and then boom tragedy hits! On feb 9th my sister
did just that. Her whole family wife and 3 kids
woke up excited to celebrate her oldest son 18th
birthday. They were headed To Jonesboro
Arkansas to his basketball game when this car
accident took place. The oldest child, my sister
nikki, and wife Kiona were all ejected from from
the truck. All of the kids and my sister wife walked away with minor bumps and bruises only by the
grace of God. But my sister nikki was not as
fortunate, not only was she ejected from the car
but the car also flipped and landed on her upper
extremities. She broke both of her arms, her
shoulder, all her ribs are fractured, her spine is
fractured, her pelvic bone is broken, she has a
collapse lung, and the exhaust pipe burnt her arm
and hand down to the bone. She had to have 2
major skin graph surgeries to correct this but may need more.
As much as we try to plan for the future. Some
things are inevitable and we just can’t plan for
tragedy, because we never know when it will take
place. We have no clue what this road ahead of us will hold all we know is that this recovery will be
a long process and a lot of the resources my sister needs to recover she Does not have. She will need
intense physical/occupational therapy to get her
back to normal. Therapy that her insurance will not cover. The Doctors said it will take 8 months to a
year to recover. Her place of employment is not
offering her any sick days, FMLA, or short term
disability, and she has been with this place of
employment for over 13 years. So not only does
she have to worry about the resources she needs
to recover at 100%, but she also has to worry
about how her kids and household will survive
until she can get back on her feet.
I’ve seen my sister give people her last, Ive seen
her encourage and help people when all she could offer was a hug. I’ve seen her raise 3 beautiful kids to be productive teenagers who love their mom
dearly, I’ve seen be an amazing and loving wife,
most of all she has been the best big sister to me
any girl could ask for. My sister and her family are
beyond blessed. God knew we needed her a little
bit longer. And we are gonna do whatever in our
power to make sure she recovers and get back to
her normal life. This go fund me will do exactly
that. If you can help in any way we gladly
appreciate. If you have already helped we are
screaming to the heavens above thank you!
The goal isn’t for us to just get through this. The
goal is for God to show us something in it that will only make us better on the other side.
God we thank you!!!!
