Raise money for CF

Support and follow our team, Saltwater Hippies, journey paddling 80 miles from Bimini Bahamas to Lake Worth Florida to help bring awareness and support to Cystic Fibrosis community. We are best friends that love to paddle board together and want to put it to a good cause! The Crossing is a fundraiser created by the Piper's Angels organization where participants paddle 80 miles across the Atlantic Ocean (in the Bermuda Triangle!) from Bimini Bahamas to Lake Worth Beach Florida to raise funds and bring awareness to the CF community. Cystic fibrosis (CF) is a progressive, genetic disease that causes persistent lung infections and limits the ability to breathe over time. In people with CF, a defective gene causes a thick, buildup of mucus in the lungs, pancreas and other organs. In the lungs, the mucus clogs the airways and traps bacteria leading to infections, extensive lung damage and eventually, respiratory failure. In the pancreas, the mucus prevents the release of digestive enzymes that allow the body to break down food and absorb vital nutrients.

The team is starting the donation page to help provide financial support for our paddling journey. Your contributions will allow us to bring the support boat from Gulf side to Ocean side of Florida and drive it to Bimini and back; fuel and obtain lodging, equipment (touring boards, safety gear, lighting equipment needed and as well as training to participate in The Crossing safely and efficiently. There are race entry fees as well as fundraising minimums for each team member to participate in The Crossing. Team fees combined are $500 and fundraising minimums is $5,000 as a whole, but we have high hopes of raising $20k for CF and Pipers Angels Foundation.
